Hi folks, I have a Turbo Outrun arcade machine in the gameroom and Im curious about converting it back to a regular Outrun machine. Research on the internet leads me to believe that the Turbo conversion was just a card that plugs into an expansion slot somewhere on the PCB.


Anyone know how to get the original Outrun game back again?



Any help would be greatly appreciated!

all i can tell is what i've read in a advert from sega themselves: according to sega they just plugged in a kind of cartridge/board to add turbo to outrun . i'm not sure if this is also valid for stand up versions, as i've seen the ad only for deluxe models.

This should be relatively trivial.

The easiest way - purchase an OutRun PCB off ebay and wire it up. This will probably take all of 10 minutes.

The slightly harder way - swap the EPROMs on your PCB for OutRun originals. If you have an EPROM burner, this might be the way to go. Alternatively you could risk buying a 'dead' PCB from ebay and hope the EPROMs aren't faulty.
