Okay here was the plan:
cancel my hosting with webhost4life, and with the refund I get from my unused months of ASP.NET hosting from them, sign up with godaddy. easy right?
well I cancelled with webhost4life, then when I tried to sign on with GoDaddy, my credit card was fraudulently used. The credit card was now closed. I had to wait foe the new one to arrive. Once it arrived, I realized that webhost4life didnt refund the money yet, and it takes 7 to 10 days!! okay, so they finally refunded the money on my new card that I in turn used to host godaddy. cool. but guess what? Godaddy's web hosting interface was extremely bizarre. I have had 3 other webhosts in my life (aside from having the bachelor's degree in computer science) and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where to click to get to the stuff I needed to do. So I called customer service and they were closed!!
so I had to eventually call at the right time (as it turned out, they were having technical difficulties at the time I called, and they were actually open 24 hours for tech support. haha), and they walked me through where to click for name servers and setting the ASP.NET application in the IIS manager tool thing they had.
meanwhile my outrun.org mail wasn't working, and I had to slip in some time to play OR online arcade!
but anyways it's back. and I have quite the updates planned! I still gotta get chizzles an FTP account, and get our mails back up and going.
but we have alot more breathing room, 150GB to be exact!
Thanks for hangin in there!
One thing that was really pissing me off, the guy who owns www.outrun.net (the one who if my page didn't exist I'm not sure where he would find content) was climibing up the google search results ladder. How grreat it must be to knock off someone elses site with most of their own stuff only to eventually best them on the search result pages!
(/rant) !
